(n) Mirrored design on hem

Alternate romanization: ryouzuma. Commonly used but not correct: ryozuma.

Ryōzuma is a mirrored image design on the hem of kurotomesode, irotomesode or sanpogi. It was common before World War II in western Japan. After the war, the eastern style, edozuma, became standard.
