(n) Figured satin

Rinzu is monochrome figured satin. It is frequently woven before additional dyeing techniques, like shibori, are applied to the fabric. This lends a dimensionality even to large areas of negative space or monochrome garments like iromuji.

Characteristics

Rinzu is woven before it is dyed, unlike donsu which is woven with dyed threads.
