Kitagawa Heirō (1898-1988) was the 17th generation head of Tawaraya, a Nishijin workshop, specializing in producing woven silk for Noh theater and the Imperial household. He was designated a Living National Treasure in 1960 for his revival of the lost art of ra weaving and his mastery of yūsoku orimono.

Kitagawa Heirō was succeeded by his second son, Kitagawa Hyōji (1936-), who is also designated a Living National Treasure for mastery of yūsoku orimono.
