What is this strange thing :? ? To me it looks something like two motifs combined, tsuyushiba and marguerite stems + leaves.

Rubyminky has kimono with similar motif, I believe, so it is not something completely random.

edit: changed title

It does look like two different motifs - the curves could either be hills/mountains or tsuyushiva - I think the leaves might be thistle leaves, but I'm not sure...

:?

I wish I were more help, gomen!

They really remind me of ominaeshi (patrinia) though their inflorescences are usually represented as tiny matsu on stalks. They could be covered in dew or rainwater indeed, or with something prone to absorb water-drops such as spiderwebs or cocoons.

Or they could be something completely different! Still, it would be nice to know Spider-Musume's official flower!

It would be interesting if it were, it's such a pretty plant :lovelove . And the motif kind of looks like it. However, at least the kimono I have with this motif, is quite heavy awase, and to my understanding this flower blooms in late summer. Of course it is not totally out of question to have awase kimono with summer motifs, but still relatively unusual I think.

This got me wanting a summer kimono with that plant. It's so pretty. We have bit similar flowers blooming here in midsummer time, they have such a wonderful fragrance :lovelove . I think they are called wild chervil in English.
