KuroKiiro Festival -Pittsburgh, PA -Nov 5-7 2010

Country- USA, Western Pennsylvania

Event- KuroKiiro Festival (formerly Tekkoshocon 1/2)

Description- Anime Convention, not a large one. It is assocaited with Tekkoshocon and is their half way throught the year convention. This years theme is school festival. There will be the usual panels and workshops and a duel artists' alley and dealers' room.

Where- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Hosted by Boyd Community Center in O'Hara Township

I like the concept, but there's basically no information on the website. Is there any way to apply to run a panel or anything? November's not very far off.

I live near Philly -- I'd almost definitely go if I knew a little more about it and could find a place to stay. (And I'd happily volunteer to help with your panel!)

Yes, unfortunately they are still working on the website... Their Facebook group has the most information. I asked about the panel, but she said there would be more information soon. The second there is additional information anywhere I'll update this thread.

Thanks for posting in the other Pittsburgh meet-up thread--I hadn't realized that there were so many of us around, and I hadn't heard of KuroKiiro before. (I had heard of Tekkoshocon of course!)

Update!

-Price is $25 for the weekend pre-reg $30 at the door; Friday: $15 Saturday: $20 Sunday: $10 until 11:30 AM; $5 after 11:30 AM
-There will be a maid cafe (extra $)
-talent show
-fashion show (which i may do)
-opens at 3 on friday, 9am on saturday and sunday
-i still havent heard about the panel :angerburst

-there will be booths with activities like a real school festival

Check the website and the facebook group often!

Went to the previous one by chance since my friend wanted to go. It wasn't so hot because of the place they had didn't have that much room, and it was pretty much
"HEY EVERYONE WALK IN SINGLE FILE LINES AND FOLLOW THESE ARROWS LOL."

Dunno if I'd be going again unless somebody wants to drag me along (can't drive), but I'm sure nobody wants an annoying little souso following them the whole time.

As for what I was wearing-- it was just some boring old normal clothes, so I doubt I was that memorable. We only went for one day and hung out at the gaming room 70% of the time.

There wasn't a lot of people though, so it couldn't been a different moment.

That's hilarious. Being soooo close and yet not even knowing each other existed. LOL
Do you have a messenger type program like MSN or anything? Then we can just chat there if we want to work something out later/get to know each other more or something so it wouldn't be as awkward.

I just got word that I've definately got the panel! Tuesday I should know the day and I'll know the time prob like next wee or so. I said I preferred Saturday afternoon/night so let's see how it goes! The KuroKiiro officials seem very excited about the panel so yayyyyyyy! :katana:

I am sending thoughts of luck your way! The satin bathrobes ("I paid $150 for it, so I know it's authentic") are my personal nemesis.
