If you are learning the basics of kimono like me, you might find this link helpful. It's a gallery of photos of a particular sort of kimono, the kuro tomesode (with a couple of furisodes tossed in), as it evolved from the Meiji period through of the middle of the Showa period (the late 50s). I decided to focus on the kuro tomesode because the design standards are well-established, so it's easier to see the differences in sleeve-length, artistic styles and dyes used. I hope this helps anyone interested in buying vintage kimono.
