In these days I saw a lot of posts about shigoki obi...
In wedding sets I often saw this kind of obi tied at the bottom of the main white fukuro/maru obi; I'm not talking about the fringe type shigoki obi, I'm talking about the "stiff" one, like in this pic from Yamatoku:
I was wondering... does anybody know how to tie it?

That doesn't look like it would stay together for very long. From the photos there doesn't appear to be any kind of knot at all. This is a lot like a basic ichimonji musubi used for men's hakama and obi. Normally you tie a knot first, then wrap one end of the obi around the knot once to smooth and flatten it, take the other end and roll or fold it into the bow shape, and wrap the middle over and over with the first end to secure it. It might be hard to make such a flat finished product if you tie a knot first, but I just don't see how that would stand up to any kind of abuse (like sitting, moving around, getting in and out of a car...)
