「私」の立て矢 "My" Tateya (Link no longer works)

NAME: the Lady Ashuko

「私」の立て矢 百日草刊 :jp
My Tateya by Various Authors (Zinnia Publishing)
ISBN: n/a
Quiltbooks.net link

I stumbled upon this book at Book-off for a dollar and bought it without really looking inside it because I was in a hurry and am always on the lookout for musubi books. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that this wasn't a simple gathering of musubi, but a gathering on various people's versions of the tateya musubi. There are a total of 32 versions: one for antique maru and the other 31 are for modern fukuro. There are 16 contributors.

There is a section at the very beginning with side by side images of each musubi so you can see the differences between each clearly. Each musubi has one color page featuring full size images of the front and back coordination and one large close up of the musubi by itself. The how-to portions are in black and white, mostly photos but with a short sentence off to the side for each step and a short passage by the contributor for each musubi.

When the direction is not immediately clear there are white lines outlining the tare and te-saki. Some, not all, contributors supplement drawn diagrams of some or all of the steps for extra clarity. All the musubi are tied on another person.

Recommended For:
-musubi enthusiasts
-those interested in dressing others
-highly motivated persons
-intermediate and higher experience

Not Recommended For:
-those who are easily intimidated
-those who want instructions to dress yourself with them
-beginners

Bonus: As this is a used book, I don't know if this actually came with the book or was tucked inside by the previous owner. I found a pamphlet inside with 6 "kobukuro obi musubi" instructions. Each has 4 full color photos with explanations. The first four the author ties in the front and turns and the last two are tied in the back.

That sounds very cool! I miss Book-Off like mad.

It`s kind of like fukurasuzume, I guess. There are so many different ways of doing it; it`s not that one is wrong and one is right, it's just different styles. Do you think we'll see some scans one day, at least of the first few pages? The link had some, but they were too small to really see any differences.
